🌍 Agbara Programme Statement of Commitment
Empowering the Global Majority through Culturally Responsive Support
At the heart of our mission is a deep commitment to supporting individuals and families from Global Majority communities—including African, Caribbean, South Asian, East Asian, Middle Eastern, Latin American, and other marginalized ethnic groups—who face systemic inequities, social exclusion, and cultural stigma.
The Agbara Programme is a culturally grounded, trauma-informed initiative designed to meet urgent and long-term needs through:
• 🗣️ Advocacy and Voice: Championing the rights and dignity of those often unheard, with a focus on anti-stigma education and community empowerment.
• 🏠 Supported Shelter: Providing safe, affirming spaces that reflect cultural values and foster healing.
• 🍲 Essential Provisions: Distributing food, clothing, and basic necessities with dignity and cultural sensitivity.
• 🩺 Medical Signposting: Connecting individuals to appropriate health services, with attention to language access, cultural safety, and trust-building.
• 💼 Job Training and Opportunity: Equipping participants with skills and pathways to economic independence, tailored to their lived realities and aspirations.
We believe that every person—regardless of background—deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling, self-determined life. Our work is rooted in compassion, cultural humility, and a refusal to accept the status quo of marginalization.
Our doors remain open, our minds remain listening, and our actions remain focused on impact. Through the Agbara Programme, we are not just offering services—we are building a movement of care, resilience, and equity.
Your support is vital to our mission. You can make a difference by making a donation, volunteering your time, or spreading the word about our organization. Every little bit helps, and together we can make a real impact in our community.
